| Noce Travertine |
Petrographical Properties:
The sample consist of amorphous ,crypto-microcrystalline cicite minerals and presents a higly interstitial appearance. In addition to these several micro fosil fillings qith oval lines were encountered.Interstitial structure within the rock are generally filled with mesocrystalline calcite. In sone interstices kidney-like ,conchoidal mesocrystalline calcite fillings are observed and they show zoned growth one after the other.Conchoidal growth zones are seperated from each other with this brown apacities. The cause of the opacities and the yellow surface stainings observed in some cilcite minerals is probably solution which precipitates limonite. These solutions have also given a dirty appearance to the mineral.
